I had the C-182 for about 4 years. While I had done some GA flying during my Air Force years and also during my airline pilot years, this is where we fell in love with such flying. We enjoyed the freedom, the adventures, and the destinations.
The C-182 is an all round excellent airplane, except for one thing. It’s a tad bit slow. Cruise is about 140. Other than that, it was great. Lots of room, a reliable engine, and a great safety record.
One other reason for purchasing the C-182 was to give my daughter an opportunity to build some time and experience. She had just gotten her pilot license, so she was ready to have fun!
